Yes...... it was a long wave goodbye.... but I will remember this trip for a very very long time.........

The first thing I'd like to do here.... is answer a question I was asked many many times this past weekend.....

YES..... we will be having this event again next year! Without a doubt... this was an epic TEAM 57 event.

I'd like to thank Jared (Sierra Smitty) and the entire staff at Parcher's Resort for the hospitality and service they extended to us all. It was their friendly and helpful attitude that set the foundation for this GREAT event..... if you have never visited Parcher's Resort.... call Jared and make a reservation and treat yourself to a GREAT couple of days in the high sierra's.... you'll be glad you did!

I've seen a few posts with this photo... but I every time I pass "Jawbone".... this billboard cracks me up!

Arrived in Bishop around 1:30PM Thursday afternoon and was greeted by temps nearing the 100 degree mark.......

Made a quick stop at Slater's Sporting Goods in Lone Pine...

30 minutes later, I drove into Parcher's and was greeted by mild temps in the 70's...... wow!

Checked in with Jared and he mentioned that quite a few TEAM 57 members had already arrived.... so I made my way to cabin #6.

Now... before I go any further, I want to mention to those of you who may be thinking about heading to Parcher's this year..... cabin #6 is the PERFECT cabin for one or two people!

Located at the top end of the resort, this cabin is very quiet, has a back porch, is newly renovated and IMO was the ideal place to stay. The cabin is far enough back to offer lots of privacy, but also close enough to the main store and cafe as well as the main entrance to the resort.... very convienent!

Once settled..... I took a nice walk around the resort and snapped a few photos.......

Spent the first few hours just kinda hanging out and exploring the resort...... as night fell, everyone gathered outside the "Casa De Flatulence".... otherwise known as Sansou's cabin.......... where everyone partied until the wee hours....
(Ill let someone who stayed later than me tell that story! LOL!)

Like I said...... I stayed quite late at the informal TEAM 57 arrival party..... and the next morning, most were still asleep...... although a few hard core members had already headed out to fish....

The "meet & greet" pancake breakfast was still a couple hours away when I checked the temperature ......brrrrrrrrrrrrr.... !!!

Jared made sure the cafe was ready for the pancake breakfast.......

Breakfast is served........

After breakfast I decided to explore the creek running thru the resort......... I should have spent some time fishing this water, as some very nice fish ended up coming out of this area.......

Including a PB for one of our members and a tagged fish....... cool!

Ill let those who caught those fish tell those stories........ but here's a few pics of the general area....

After doing some serious re-con and walking a good area of the creek line........ it was off to South Lake.

The trip to South Lake is VERY short. and spectacular!

We spent the early part of the day fishing South Lake....... quite a few members fished the shore next to the dock and the dam....... most everyone caught quite a few fish...... mostly stockers..... but again, Ill let those who have stories from South Lake post their reports... but here's a few shots of the area...... and a couple shots of Jared launching a pontoon....... you're hardcore Jared!

That was how I spent my day......... South Lake was beautiful and FULL of fish.... and quite a few TEAM 57 members had a lot of success there.....

Later that night..... TEAM 57 enjoyed a GREAT spaghetti dinner at Parchers.......

After that..... a few of us headed for the casino.... stayed a few hours. and called it a day.
