    Default Local LB Hooping 2/18

It has been about two years since my oldest son Anthony (he is 12) has been out hooping with us. With his school and my days off during the week it is just hard to line up. And the last time he was out he did not pull nets, he just wanted to hang out. So this week he wanted to go hooping and work the deck. He had a minimum day so the Bro and I took him down to LB. We got there around 1430 to a little breezy than I would like, but no big deal, we launched and did some fishing till dark.

Anthony was killin these little guys, not sure are they YFC? Or a cod?

    Here is my big Sandie.

All in all fishing was ok for us on cut squid and swimbaits. Sandies, Sculpin and the other fish.

Here is Anthony suited up and ready to work.

    Again.

We dropped the 1st set and did some more fishin, Rich got this nice Sandy.

We tried an experiment and ran 5 eclipse and 5 old style. Rich pulled the 1st five of old style for notta! Not the start we wanted. Anthony was up next with the next 5 Eclipse. He pulled his 1st net with 3 lobster, two legals and one short!

    Happy boy!

The next 4 had a couple shorts. We did the same routine 4 more times, Rich pulled zero bugs, Anthony pulled one more legal and a few more shorts. Called it a night at 2200.

I am proud of Anthony for doing a great job and he hung in there with us in the cold! I get the feeling he is going to get better at this than me.

Nice bugs and fish guys. As for the fish being either a YFC or white croaker, I think the white croaker has a rougher skin texture that a YFC. It's hard to ID from the picture.
