Thread: Tenkara Transport Question

  1. Default Tenkara Transport Question

So, I have a Tenkara rod but I'm having some problems fishing with it on small streams. When you walk between pools or spots, what do you do with the line? Just wrap it around the pole? Tie it down? Unlike a spinning rod or fly rod, there isn't any hooks or spots to lash the hook onto and the length of the line doesn't seem to help (too long). So, what's the best way to secure your line without having to retie between every pool?

    Thanks!

There are after market hook keepers you can buy that attach to your rod.

    Here's one from BPS.

Of course the other alternative is use a fly rod.

Hey carpanglerdude, seal is right, you can buy some thing like that from BPS, EBay or Tenkara Bum. Here is how I attached mine to the rod.*

Two larger grade zip ties are also an option.
