Default Need helps deciding on LCs for halibut

So my sweet gf got me a $50 gift card for basspro & turners. I plan on fishing for halibut from the jetties around Long Beach, Bolsa Chica, Seal Beach pier, & Belmont pier. From what I read on this forum is that you want to use a suspending lure & add a trailer treble on the tail.

Also do I still have to use a carolina rigs or a reverse dropper line right? Or do I just tie it directly to the line? I am using 14 lb flourocarbon line on a spinning uglystik combo

I was about to pull the trigger on LC flash minnows 110 sp til I saw this :

    Thank you in advance!

Always cool to get a giftcard for some fishing supplies.

    Try one of these..

There's not a whole lot of pattern selections from BassPro, but from that link, the MS American Shad or Aurora Black are good patterns. Turner's may have more of a selection. You can never go wrong with a Sardine pattern.

Also, 14lb fluoro on a spinning setup may be a little too stiff for flinging LC's. I personally use 12lb mono on my setup and it works great. Hope this helps.

Did you read Wingnuts LC sticky post ?
    Lots of great info there.
110 Metallic Sardine is a good one.

Yeah I did, he did a great job. I'm a total noob at this, I'm trying to get ready before my first try.
