Default Morro Bay ---- Salmon Fishing Questions ???

How do they fish for Salmon in the ocean ?

I know how they do it in Alaska, but have no clue what they use in the ocean ?

Do they anchor, and fish for the salmon or do they troll ?

    Thank You

i once went to virg's in morro bay for afternoon 1/2 day salmon trip.
i called ahead and they told me that limit were the rule and they had limited out the day before.
it is a 3 hour drive to the rock and i took my friend randy. when we got there they told us we needed 3 lb cannon balls
with sinker releases. and barbless crocodiles. and if you hit a piece of kelp you could lose your cannon ball
so we got 2 rigs each. 100 bucks.
as we waited in line to get tickets one of the ladies was taking calls and telling everyone that called about the limit
fishing. the boat was packed. we trolled around for 3 or 4 hours for 1 fish on the boat.
the deckhands told us they hadn't seen a limit for 2 weeks.
i was in morro bay a few months ago. virgs is closed down.

    thank you buddha.

Going on a salmon or tuna cattle boat is never a good idea
