Thread: What fish is this?

    Default What fish is this?

I caught a small 12 inch fish today reverse dropper loop it had maybe 5 rows of teeth all the way down to its throat and had flaps that were like a neon yellow that opened up and made its mouth huge. The fish had a long skinny lingcod style body and was a dark red fish not sure what it was. It was also very aggressive when I was trying to unhook it. It kept biting the pliers and not letting go

Anyone have a idea of what it was?

    Midshipman. It's always a Midshipman.

Do you have a picture? You really need to supply a picture if you want an accurate ID.

They are wild looking. You should youtube them. They are really interesting when they fight with each other. I've never caught one, but they do look really bitey.

Ah the sarcastic fringhead! Those things are mean! May I ask where you caught it? The only catches that I've heard of are usually north.

Hey IFL, aren't you supposed to be studying instead trolling FNN? This means you have time to fish with me tomorrow?
