First bit of off season acquisitions:

    http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/mlb/...&vkey=news_mlb

The Dodgers have agreed to a four-year, $28 million deal with Cuban middle-infield prospect Alexander Guerrero, according to industry sources.

Performance bonuses of $1 million per year increase the potential value of the contract to $32 million. The 26-year-old Guerrero will be eligible for free agency after his age-30 season upon the completion of the deal, which includes a $10 million signing bonus. In addition, Guerrero cannot be optioned to the Minor Leagues without his permission after the first year of the contract.

Mark Ellis was not available for comment.

    Holy craaaaap.

Anybody catch the "Don Mattingly Is Our Guy!" press conference!?!?!

To sum it up, here you go:

Long story short, I think the Dodgers are forcing Mattingly to walk, instead of them being the bad guys and not extending his contract. He's apparently not too thrilled at doing the Year to Year contract thing, and I think he's going to walk. Perhaps there is a god who listens to my prayers, except for the one about winning the WS.

So? Mattingly to the nats? Apparently he is #1 on their list.

    Who do the Dodgers hire?

Wallach? = no personality, won MOY in AAA

Baker? = "players manager" if there ever was one?

    Scoisca trade? = I like!

    Hillman?

Personally, my vote is for Kevin Kennedy. I don't need to explain

    Lineup

    Craw
    Puig
    AGON
    HANRAM
    Kemp
    Uribe
    Guerrero
    Ellis AJ

of course after week one and injuries hit it will be

    Puig
    Punto
    Van Stasche
    Shu
    Uribe
    Ellis
    Gordon

According to Ramona Shelburne on nitTwitter, Sue Falsone is no longer with the organization.

The great purge of 2013 has begun. I like it.

(Sorry Quagga. Your woman crush is gone.)

Oh, and Eric Collins and "Psycho" Steve Lyons will no longer be returning as announcers in 2014.

I could care less about Collins. I actually enjoyed the analysis of Steve Lyons.

    per the LA Times:

The Dodgers fired bench coach Trey Hillman on Tuesday, according to a person familiar with the decision but not authorized to discuss it.

The FO also fired Wade Taylor, our advance scout. Another close compatriot of Mattingly. Anybody notice a trend?

    McGwire!!! You're next.

As a Dodger fan, this is music to my ears:

The Giants have announced a two-year contract with right-hander Tim Lincecum, which will keep the two-time NL Cy Young Award winner from reaching free agency. The deal is believed to be worth $35MM and Lincecum will receive full no-trade protection, according to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com
2 years, 35 MILLION DOLLARS?!?! For a guy who lost his job and ended up in the bull pen?

Congratulations, Mr. Maddow and to the SF brass who signed him before Ned Colleti could make the same mistake.

Unfortunately, not to break anybody's hearts, but McGwire is under contract and can't be fired.
