I'm choosing to believe that it's another trick attributable to deep pockets: Remove the lame duck cloud from over Donny Baseball's head - but be perfectly happy to eat the contract when they fire him in August.

I really, really hope I'm wrong about Mattingly... I'd love for him to be a baseball guru - but I doubt it possible.
