    Default The Stone 8-25-14

Went out to Puddingstone and fished 7-9 tonight. I caught one bass on KPN topwater lure right before sunset. It was maybe 2 pounds or so and released to fight another day. I was pumped to finally catch something on the new lure and topwater at that. Tonight was the first time I tried this lure and I was impressed the walking action it is incredible. It has nice smooth glide and sounds like a bait fish feeding in surface. I threw out some other stuff but didn't get any love. I saw 2 other people fishing and they landed 1 bass on a creature bait. Thanks for all great info on this site; I would have never known about the KPN if it wasn't for all the Castaic and Aquaduct reports. Thanks for reading.

Nice job dude. Don't you just love the topwater bite? It's so fun to watch the bass explode on them.

Thanks IFTL! Topwater bites are where it's at! Watching her jump a couple of times was cool to, I thought she was gonna spit the bait.

Nice fish. I was also there with a friend during that time. Nothing between us so it wasn't us you saw. I've been hearing topwater working well in the morning, but not so much in the evenings now.

    TUNAVIC thanks you sir.

dday07 I was fishing around sailboat cove and the lifeguards dock and there were random mats around that area and some vegetation that was coming out if the water in some spots it looked that amazon swords plants from an aquarium and the visibility was maybe 3-4 feet in tea colored water

ThomasD thank you I saw someone else call Puddingstone the stone a few months back and now all future reports from here will be labeled as such

We went in Swim Beach side across from Sailboat and worked back towards Swim Beach Entrance. I saw a few people along the shore on Sailboat Cove, one person at the point. Was that you? Or were you closer to the Lifeguard dock?

Edit: Looking closer at the picture, those rocks and weeds look like the shore along the Lifeguard dock.
