Default Shopping for a fish finder_which one is best

I got an old 19ft. ranger bass boat with a pinpoint on the bow and an old paper graph lowrance on the dash. Looking to update. What do I need? Any suggestions?

I have a portable 535 and a mounted 585 GPS. excellent units. and of course they dont make either of those models anymore.

    Really depends on your budget.

I recently got a lowrance X96, and I am really happy with it. Great Grayscale graph around $200 at BPS.

BPS has a Lowrance unit for $395. Its full color, but its last years model. But one look and you ll agree that its a good deal. I think its the x595 or x525, well anyways its something along those lines. And for the price, IMO its a steal.

I love my Lowrance X510c. No GPS though. But for $349, I couldn't pass it up. I also have an X96 and like it a lot. It has a lot of features found on more expensive units, but at an affordable price. IMO, if you can afford to go color, go for it.
