Default Are fish finder tranducers interchangable?

I bought a '97 aluminum 16' basstracker from my uncle. It came with a Lowrance X85 fishfinder by the trolling motor and has a base for a Hummingbird by the steering wheel. The X85 is dead and I have no idea what Hummingbird model was in this boat before I got it. My question is if I replace the X85 can I use the same transducer if I stay with a Lowrance? As for the Hummingbird I am not sure what to do. I have never fished with a fish finder and I feel like I am fishing blind. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

transducers are not interchangable in brands...but if you check each of their websites they will tell you which tranducers are interchangable with their models...they also can possibly repair your unit...if you buy a new unit they will come with a transducer...i hope this helps

No! they must match your electronics. Contact the manufacturer of your depth finder and they will guide you to the correct transducer.
