Eastman Lake

Location and Directions:

     Eastman Lake is located Madera County approx. 28 miles North East of the city of Chowchilla, CA. From Hwy. 99 at Chowchilla take Avenue 26 East. Once you pass the town of Daulton, travel 3 miles to Raymond Rd. and turn Left towards the town of Raymond. When you come to Knowles Junction, (just before Raymond) turn left on Buchanan Rd. and travel East approx. 7 miles to the lake.

General Info:

     Eastman Lake consists of 1,780 surface acres at capacity. Elevation is 600ft above sea level. The lake is open year-round. Day use fee is $3 per vehicle and tent and RV camping is available from $8-$20 per night. For more information contact: US Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento Dist.

Boating Info:

     There are two public launch ramps located in the Chowchilla and Cordonez Recreation areas. Water skiing is allowed in the south end of the lake. The Chowchilla river inlet is restricted to all boating.

Fishing Info:

    Rainbow trout are planted here during the winter months. There are also largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill and catfish here. Shore fishing is allowed 24-hours. The California Dept. of Fish and Game has declared Eastman Lake a trophy largemouth bass fishery. Anglers may keep only one bass per day with a minimum length of 22".
