Cuyamaca Lake

Location and Directions:

 Cuyamaca Lake is located off Int. 8 near San Diego. From I-8 take Hwy. 79 North to the lake.

General Info:

 Cuyamaca Lake rests in the beautifull Cuyamaca mountains, 4,620 feet above sea level. It is 110 surface acres at capacity. The lake is open year round sunrise to sunset. There is a lake store for tackle and supplies. Camping is available at the nearby State Park. There are also many hiking trails. Boating Info:

 There is an excellent launch ramp for private boats 10-feet or over. There is no horsepower limit, but the speed limit of 10 MPH is strictly enforced. Canoes and kayaks are only allowed during the summer months and Zodiac type inflatable boats only are allowed, no rafts. Float-tubes are allowed. Please see the Float-tube rules

Fishing Info:

 This is a very good trout fishing lake. Trout are stocked here year-round by the DFG and Whitewater fish hatchery. There are also some Bass, Crappie, and Bluegill here.
