Rainbow trout were planted here for the first time in the winter of 2003. Lake management plans to continue trout plants during the winter months. This is also a very good Catfish and Crappie lake. The Crappie are usually good sized averaging about a pound! There are also lots of Bass (12" size limit) and Bluegill here. No swimming/skiing is allowed which makes this a nice lake to fish.

Comments and Tips:

LAKE HENSHAW IS LIKE A SECOND HOME TO US...THE WATER IS LOW BUT WE FIGURE IT'S A SMALLER BODY OF WATER WITH THE SAME BIG MONSTER CATFISH. BELIEVE IT OR NOT, THE BASS WERE HITTING SHRIMP LAST WEEK. BUT IF YOU ASK AL AND I "WHAT BAIT ARE YOU USING?" WE'LL TELL YOU MARSHMELLOW...(but we're really using shrimp...mums the word) HAPPY FISHING AND CATCHING FELLOW ANGLERS
