Pyramid Lake is located off of Interstate 5 approximately 60 miles north of Los Angeles. Take I-5 north to the Smokey Bear exit. Go left on Smokey Bear road to the lake. The lake is open year round from 7 am to sunset. Entrance fee is $6.00 per car. There is a nice 8-lane launch facility and rental boats available for $33-40 per day, $25 for rowboat. There is a lake store to serve your needs. Camping is available at nearby Los Alamos campground. There are some nice picnic areas. The surface area of the lake is approx. 1,297 acres, 23 miles of shoreline. (661) 295-1245, (661) 257-2892.

There are Stripers, Trout, Large and Smallmouth Bass, Catfish, and Panfish here. Some fairly big Stripers up to 40 pounds have been taken here. Deep coves give this lake lots of shoreline, mostly accessible only by boat. It is also quite deep, over 700 feet in some spots. This place is unique because there are very few lakes in S. Cal. that you can go to and catch Stripers, Largemouth, and Smallmouth all in one day.
